...from the January 1970 issue Here, my friends, for your possible amusement, are the complete lyrics to the "Food For Dogs" song that I sing to The Girls every time I feed them. Food For Dogs (words and music by Doc Cross) (spoken dramatically) "Who wants FOOOOOOOOD FOOOORRRRR DOOOOOGGGGSSSSSS?" "It's food for dogs!" "Not hogs" "or frogs" "on logs!" "It's food for dog-dog-dogga-dog-dogs" "Dog-dog-dogga-dogga-dogs-dogs" "Dog-dog-dogga-dogga-dog-dog-dogs!" "It's food for Daisy" "Who isn't crazy!" "It's food for Winker" "My little stinker!" "It's food for dog-dog-dog-dog-DOGS!" "It's FOOD FOR DOGS!" Note: The last line is sung in a very low bass. Tags: food for dogs, general nuttiness, music Current Mood: musical

Today's a sit in the studio with shades drawn, drinking and listening to Veronica Lipgloss or something else low and dirgey. But I"m at the office, drinking coffee, listening to slow dirges instead. I reached my monthly breaking point about 2 weeks early. It's a confluence of things. Some I can exercise more control over, some far outside my sphere of influence and, still, others I'm simply sick to death of hearing about. As if that's all not enough this stupid issue has false folios. I screw these up every, single, time. Speaking of good news bad news. Time constraints have availed me of redesign responsibilities. Good news as I could not simultaneously publish a weekly, and redesign the entire magazine in the alloted three weeks. It's bad news because I wanted the responsibility. The very idea of a flag to colophon redesign made me uncomfortable and panicky. It's exactly the kind of challenge I need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgaCHmxmeUo (Music video, Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" -- katzchen mentioned it, see.) Okay, despite the fact that a guy is singing it, twist the "speaker" to be female, and see what it does to interpretations? Who's the dominant actor in the video? Is, or is not, the guy (the actor, not the singer) hot? Is there a cover with a female singer? Why is my mind jumping up and down and insisting that the guy (not the singer, the actor-protagonist of the non-focused-on-singer/band part of the vid) is a good model for Dareus? I hadn't figured that he'd be that much of a hottie! *eyes brain* (The. Cheekbones. My mom goes rowr for legs, but I've got this thing about OMG CHEEKBONES. Maybe that's one reason I'm a furvert; exaggerated cheekbones are part of many such drawings, yes? It's part of the "muzzle" effect, often. Hmmmm.)
