Signal Boost: Boston, 10/1 & 10/2!
For those of you you missed it last night, it looks like I'll be in Boston Saturday, 10/1, and Sunday, 10/2. I'll be staying at the Hotel Marlowe, next door to the Cambridgeside Galleria. I will be at loose ends most of the day both days, and Saturday evening looks fairly open thus far.

Boston area peeps -- I've never been to Beantown. Any interesting things to see or do, or cool places to eat or drink at, near that hotel? ("Near" = values of walkable or public tranistable.) John Adams stuff or Revolutionary War stuff a plus.

Also, I'd love to meet some of you in person at last, if you're around.

Feel free to leave a comment tellin' me what to do!

Thanks!

The Mapparium in the Christian Science Center is really quite something. It's a thirty-foot stained glass globe that you go inside. 30s era map, no proselytization from the Xtian Scientists, and right downtown so easy to get to via the T and some walking.

Given our newborn, I can't commit to seeing you in person, alas. I recommend the Museum of Science, the Freedom Trail (if you have the energy), and, given your interests, Pandemonium Books & Games in Central Square, Cambridge. (Boston also has the third-oldest comic book store in America, the Million Year Picnic, in Harvard Square.)

Seconding the Museum of Science. Especially the electricity demonstration, which is a Tether to Lightning.
