Why? - I Have Powers
I am the Monkey King!
In recent months, I have been nigh-overcome with the desire for a pet fox -- specifically either a Fennec or a Tame Silver Fox.

I know a few silver foxes, and they aren't tame...

Fennecs as pets are chewers and diggers and they tend to be very nocturnal

Not saying don't, just saying Be Aware What You're Getting Into. It's a commitment to a long haul. :)

yes, i second that. if you seriously start considering, please do your research. although if you get a fennec fox and it doesn't work out, i have an in at the zoo and we don't currently have one... >;)

Your links are broken.

Also, I'll second the comments about Fennecs being unsuitable as pets. They're way cute, but they're desert creatures, so they'll rip hell out of your furniture trying to burrow, hide food around the place, dig their way out of any enclosure, and won't house-train easily, if at all. They're really not domesticated.

I tried to fix links.

Doood! You too? I sooo want a Russian Silver Fox. I would call him Caliban, and he would be my friend.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but having raised more than a few orphaned wild animals, including foxes, I must tell you that wild animals make terrible pets. You'd be much better off with a dog or cat or rabbit or somesuch.

Oooh, I'd love to pet a fox, too. I'd slip my hand down the waistband of . . . oh, not that kind of fox.

... um, not to mention, not so much with getting along with your cats.

They're adorable as heck, that's why. And doubtless clever. Probably all kinds of trouble. But adorable! The fennecs have those ginormous radar-dish ears, just too cute!

Judges 15:4,5 [KJV]

And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails. And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.

It's a bit like Tarot, isn't it?

Also, one of the first self-propelled incendiary devices.

Dude, Zora the Bora Bee would SO not be down with that. :)

(They are cute, though.)
