How Many MNPR:RPG downloads?
Number of MNPR:RPG downloads on Thanksgiveaway 2007:

2,066

Whoa.

I've sent out a coupon deal on the DI, T&J, and ZoZ PDFs at RPGNow/DTRPG to all customers accepting email. The coupons are for $5 off the usual PDF price.

Let's see if anyone takes advantage of the coupons once they've had a chance to check out MNPR:RPG.

Just a heads-up: I purchased MNPR:RPG forever ago and I received a copy of your Thanksgiveaway email.

Ah, I know what happened.

Um, Happy Holidays? Feel free to use the coupons if you don't already have PDFs of the other games. :)

Same thing happened to me. I've been meaning to get a copy of ZoZ for a while, and the coupons have prompted me to check out DI as well. :)

I think I'll be making those same purchases.

Me too - I got it a loong time ago, but I got an email just the same.

That's great!

I must not be accepting email, because I didn't get a coupon. That's OK, though, because I already bought T&J (physical and PDF) and Zo (Physical only - I don't think there was a PDF) from IPR, so free a MPNR was just cake. I'm not certain that DI is right for my group - nobody wanted to play Kill Puppies For Satan or Grey Ranks - they wanna be happy and heroic. Most of the time.

But 2066 downloads - that's fantastic! I'm glad that you're working with the Evil Hat folks, because it creates this sort of zone of coolosity within the gaming world, and I think some great stuff will come from it.

Well, here they are, for you -- and everybody else who shut off email:

Dead Inside: the Roleplaying Game of Loss & Redemption
(normal cost: $13; with coupon: $8)
http://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?discount=14365
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?discount=14365

Truth & Justice
(normal cost: $13; with coupon: $8)
http://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?discount=41564
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?discount=41564

The Zorcerer of Zo
(normal cost: $15; with coupon: $10)

You must use the above links to get the coupon discount.

I'd say DI is pretty damned heroic, actually. Possibly even happy.

One of the best comments I ever got on DI was short, sweet, and to the point: "The hope! It burns!"

Re: That's great!

Hey, that's nice, thanks! I wasn't trolling for the coupon, I swear. But I obviously need to get a better look at DI, because I seem to have gotten the wrong impression.

Re: That's great!

I think a good way to express DI is that "you start broken -- but as you heal the world you heal yourself, and vice-versa."

Re: That's great!

In some ways Dead Inside is the most positive RPG I've ever played. The central focus of the game is on reclaiming your soul. Killing people and taking their stuff doesn't work too well for that. It's a unique game.

Dead Inside is probably my favourite of the PDQ games. One of the few game/settings where I went "wow" over the possibilities immediately on reading the rules. Very few games are based on the construction of character (rather than "a character"). And the "higher level" games of DI are just as interesting and wonder filled.

Then again I have pretensions to being an alchemist, so this game just simply speaks to me on so many levels.

Yesterday I found myself in a waiting room in Columbus Ohio for several hours with a laptop that didn't have MNPR:RPG... so I downloaded a copy. I did receive two sets of coupons today, which I assume was one set for the download and one set for the purchase of it I made a while back.

Even so, I hope the game generates more interest in your PDQ-based games. I like the system more and more. I was looking back over the past year on the games I've reviewed and played and looked at, and it is a dead heat between Spirit of the Century and Truth & Justice for my game of the year.

I think that is pretty good company to be in, for both you and Evil Hat.

I'm going to Orycon this weekend, I could be talked into ( for some sweet, sweet uranium ) posting Thanksgiveaway flyers for MNPR:RPG around the con, and leaving some lying around.

About 1100 or so attendees.

Is there a flyer? Email it to me, and I will... make... arrangements to distribute it.
cappadocius From: [info]cappadocius Date: November 15th, 2007 08:25 pm (UTC) (Link)
Well, MNPR:RPG was only being offered for free yesterday, so it wouldn't really be ThanksGIVEaway, as much as ThanksSELLaway by the time they got it.
chadu From: [info]chadu Date: November 15th, 2007 08:56 pm (UTC) (Link)
Kee-rect. Is done now.

However, if you want to distribute flyers for ZoZ or T&J, see:

ZoZ
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/asmp-zoz/files/
"zoz_onesheet.pdf"

T&J
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/truthandjustice/files/
"TJ_Ad_BW.pdf"

(You're on both groups, right?)

Not sure about ZoZ, but that can be fixed once I'm home.

I thought the Thanksgiveaway was a few days. I fail at reading apparently.

If we're interested in a print DI, and if there is a Print + PDF option for DI, will these coupons apply?
chadu From: [info]chadu Date: November 15th, 2007 08:57 pm (UTC) (Link)
Unfortunately, no.

Sorry!

Chad thanks for the free pdf, the one of the few of yours I haven't bought. I posted a very brief but positive review on rpgnow
